Heart to Heart Book Marker

 This was an afterthought...but I still wanted to share the pattern.  We needed something other than a recipt or a torn piece of paper to hold our place in the evening read...not to mention the school work reads.  So there will be more book markers forth coming.

Heart to Heart Book Marker

Materials

Left over finger weight yarn
Size 2 needles
Darning needle


Instructions
CO 20
Knit 4 rows

Row 1: k7,yo,sl 2 knitwise, k1, pass the 2 slipped stitches over , yo,k1, yo,sl 2 knitwise, k1, pass the 2 slipped stitches over,yo, k6
Row 2: and every even row: k4, P12,K4
Row 3: k5, k2tog, yo, k3,yo, sl 1 knitwise, k1, pass slipped stitch over, k2, yo, sl 1 knitwise, k1, pass slipped stitch over, k4
Row 5: k5, k2tog, yo, k3,yo, sl 1 knitwise, k1, pass slipped stitch over, k2, yo, sl 1 knitwise, k1, pass slipped stitch over, k4
Row 7: k4, yo, k1, k2tog, yo, knit 5, yo, sl 1 knitwise, k1, pass slipped stitch over, sl 1 knitwise, k1, pass slipped stitch over, k4
Row 9: k4, yo, k2tog, k2tog, yo, k4, yo, sl 1 knitwise, k1, pass slipped stitch over, sl 1 knitwise, k1, pass slipped stitch over, yo, k4
Row 11: k6, yo, k2tog, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, sl 1 knitwise, k1, pass slipped stitch over, sl 1 knitwise, k1, pass slipped stitch over, yo, k5
Row13: k7, yo, k2tog, k1, yo, sl 1 knitwise, k1, pass slipped stitch over, sl 1 knitwise, k1, pass slipped stitch over, yo, k6
Row 15: k8, yo, k2tog, k1, sl 1, knitwise, k1, pass slipped stitch over, yo, k7
Row 17: k8, yo, k2tog, k1, k2tog, yo, k7
Row 18: k4, p12, k4

Repeat rows 1-18: 3 more times

Next: k 4 rows and bind off.  weave in ends.
