Hey all I wanted to share my propagation update with everyone.  Since I orrigonally posted it here I wanted to share the link of how my experiment is progressing.
I have successfully propagated a very expensive plant over and over again.  YEAH BABY!

My Mothers Day

Just Wanted to share My Mothers Day with you.

I was whisked away to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens where we got a Family Membership so I can go back any time I want.  It was only $20.00 more.  And I got a free trowel to boot!

 

There was so much to see...I didn't know which way to aim my camera.  And they had a rose show going on.

I have been wanting to see this Climbing rose for awhile.  All my roses in my gardens have something to do with my Mother or Sister.  This one is called 4th of July...My Mom was born or the 4th of July.  Absolutely gorgeous.

Happy Mothers day Mom...I miss you.

Alex fell in love with the smoke tree...he couldn't stop touching it...and it looks like it was sending him some love too.

I had to take a photo of these two funny looking creatures as well.

Gardening Around The Phone Pole II

On 5/12/2010 I showed you how hide an unsightly phone pole.  With a packet of seeds, good soil, twine, nails and a hammer.



Well here are the end results.

As you can see the phone pole looks much better.
Though the flowers aren't as prolific as I like.  The heart shaped leaves are dandy.  

Tricks with Cooking Oil Spray

How to get those darn, sticky Sales tags off...Coat it with cooking oil spray...let it sit for a few minutes at least 5. Then use a plastic scraper.
How about your shovel? Having a hard time getting that blade into the soil...spray it with cooking oil spray.
Spray your pruner, loppers and cutter joints with it...they will work more efficiently.
How about the under part of your mower blade and undercarriage. How the grass gets all stuck...before mowing each time give it all a good coating.

Crafting Carrie - Rose petal Beads

Who Knew?...Jessica, that's who.

And here are the little petal pickers now.

I have a Trellis covered in rose's. Though they make a beautiful white ground covering when the petals fall...there was something better to do with them.

Fortune has placed me with a group of talented down to earth homeschooling Mama's. And we share all our findings and doing with each other.

This one was from Jessica.

Directions:

They were quite easy to make.

First: Ya pick-em (petals only)

Second: Ya, squash-em...I used my food processor. (it is recommended that you use water, I didn't there was allot of rain here and the petals were still damp)

Third: Ya mash-em into beads about the size of a marble.

Fourth: Poke-em with a needle and let them dry.

I used a pillow form with wax paper over it. The same pillow I use for needle felting. Once they are dry we will string them and hang them on the fan. So there wonderful smell can fill the air.
