Monday Musing

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing,
to Keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate
is strength undefeatable."
                                                            -Helen Keller

For the life of me I do not recall when I became an adult.  Perhaps it was the day I moved from the safety of my parents home...or when I made a decision without need the approval of my Mother and overbearing Sister.  Or maybe it is yet to come.
Times I still feel like a little child and mornings when I am too stiff to get out of bed I know otherwise.
Is ADULT a state of mind?  if so I am definitely more child than adult...thank goodness.
I believe to have the amazing life I desire I must be both at the same time...I believe you have to be to live as Helen Keller's quote.
Turning my authentic self loose on fate must take both.  To release the child within upon the unknown takes allot of hand holding.
But I think instead of seeing fate as a futuristic void of the unknown...maybe its just a piece of wool waiting for me to turn it into something special, or a seedling needing nurturing and care that I can do.
That's it! I CAN...how utterly simple...say it out loud with me
---I CAN---
Doesn't that feel good...how inspiring...how authenticating.  Within two simple words I am the free spirit undefeatable.  The Ault and the child all at once.

To believe your own thought,
to believe that what is true for you
in your private heart is true for all men---
that is genius.
                -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Interesting thoughts. I always remind myself of a saying I once read, 'you only grow old when you forget how to play' So I'm playing, I'm playing! And like you I will remind myself that I Can do what I need to do. I needed that inspiration - thank you.
