This is Stitches, he has a bit more detail than the other Snow People I have been making. But he is oh so cute and tells a good joke...keeping you in stitches.
What You Need
Needles:
Double Pointed Four each of size 7 and 4
Darning needle
Yarn:
White - Sport weight
Black - Finger weight
Orange - Finger weight
Red - Finger weight
Green - Finger wight
Other Items:
Wool fleece for stuffing
Beans for ballast
INSTRUCTIONS
Body
Cast on 24, divide stitches on 3 needles and work in the round. Be sure to leave a long tail
Knit rounds until Snowman Stitches is 3.5 inches tall
Next round *K1 K2tog*, work *-* to end
Next round K2tog to end
Next round *K1 K1 in front and back*, work *-* to end
Next round Knit
Next round *K1 K1 in front and back*, work *-* to end.
Knit 7 rounds
Next round *K1 K2tog*
Next Round *K2 tog* work *-* to last st, K last st
Break off yarn draw through remaining sts with darning needle and fasten off.
Stuff with wool fleece and then 1/2 inch of beans for ballast
Draw tail through cast on stitches, close up bottom and fasten off.
Arms
Pick Up 4 stitches on the body of Snowman right at the neck (as seen in picture below)
Next K in I-cord for two inches
Next row K2tog K1
Next row K2 tog K1
Break yarn and draw through the last 2 stitches and fasten off
Fasten off tail
Repeat on other side
Face
At this time you can embroider face and buttons. But I like to wait until the hat and scarf are done so I can better place the stitches. The eyes, mouth and buttons are french knots. The nose is as follows.
Nose
Using two size 4 needles and orange yarn, pick up two stitches on center of face (just like with the arms)
Next work in I-cord for three rows
Next break off yarn and draw through last two stitches with darning needles
Next draw yarn through center of nose and fasten off
Fasten off tail as well
Hat
Using four size 4 needles cast on 24 stitches in white yarn divide stitches on three needles
Work in single rib (K1 P1) for 3 rows
Switch to red yarn and green yarn, knitting with both at the same time
K 8 rounds
Next round Dec 1 stitch on each needle (first stitch)
K 3 rounds
Next round Dec 1 stitch on each needle (first stitch)
K 3 rounds
Next round Dec 1 stitch on each needle (first stitch)
K 3 rounds
Next round Dec 1 stitch on each needle (first stitch)
K 2 rounds
Next round Dec 1 stitch on each needle (first stitch)
K 2 rounds
Next round Dec 1 stitch on each needle (first stitch)
K 2 rounds
K2tog to end
K last two stitches tog, break yarn and fasten off
Using white make pom-pom at end
Scarf
Using the red and green combination again cast on 5 stitches using two size 4 needles.
K until scarf is 4 inches long.
Cast off
Using the red and green make a fringe edges
If you have not embroidered the face do so at this time. Place hat and scarf on Snowman Stitches and fasten down. You can attach a cord to hang him on the tree if you would like.

What an adorable snowman and thank you for including the pattern. I was just thinking I have some leftover handspun that would be perfect knitted up as a snowman and now...I have a pattern to knit it with.
